I was confused to see other reviews on Amazon mention that the graphics on this game were ok but not something special (and even that the mediocre graphics shouldn't necessarily stop you buying the game!). Quite simply, I've never before played a game with so many jaw dropping moments- many things come to mind, the Baja course at night, the race through the Croatian town, the Moroccan scenery, the Malaysian jungle. Absolutely beautiful and fantastically immersive.

I have only played the single player version so far. I think the emphasis on trying to keep the people you're driving against as personalities rather than just anonymous drones is great. I enjoyed Burnout Paradise very much but I think the single player mode was left a bit hollow by the other drivers in races being nameless (and invisible!). 'Great racing Mark!' Thanks!

It seems that the game aims to have a wider appeal than a game based only on point to point rally racing. Personally I have most enjoyed these events of all on Dirt 2 but some people seem to prefer the very cramped, winding circuits. Even the latter races definitely have their moments.

Overall, this game is beautiful and a lot of fun to play!

Ok, So I never played Dirt 1, so I have no prior basis for how this game was going to be. I am a hardcore rally fan dating back to the old Colin McRae games of course and well with his name attached to this game I envisioned this to be in the same mould. Ok, so before I bought his game I checked out all the reviews that could be found. I saw that other types of racing and whatnot were incorporated into the game but I figured there would still be enough rallying to satisfy my tastes...how wrong was I!!!.

Quite simply the game is too Americanized with a horrible arcade feel. There are no multiple staged rally events....I repeat no multiple rally staged events. How can that even be?? I am still bemused by that. Colin McRae's name is not this game and there's not a single real rally event!!!
This X games thing is a waste of time to me but I guess there were willing to sponsor the game so that's why it's in there. A few people mentioned that celebrity drivers taunt you during the race, this is true and sooo corny it makes you cringe.

Overall the game is just a big disappointment to me in terms of rallying and realism. I will be selling mine copy on Amazon immediately.

I use the Logitech Driving Force Pro Racing Wheel. I wanted to know does the game suport 900-degree wheel rotation (2.5 times around lock to lock) and so I asked Codemasters and this is what they wrote back.
"Thank you for submitting your recent request to Codemasters Customer Services concerning DiRT 2. I'm afraid this is not officially supported. All we can suggest is to make sure your steering wheel is set up correctly and not to use the analog PS3 controller. Sorry for the inconvenience. Kind regards Dominic Codemasters Customer Services"
It dose still works as your standard 200° wheel rotation that gives you fast turning speed but not the control you get from 900° and then the game play it self... it feels as if you are being helped to stay on the track.

I bought this game thinking it was going to be similar or same as dirt 1. it is more x game style than rally type game. so it is disappointing to me. if you like x games then you probably enjoy this game. I like rally and should just not bought this game.
