As you reach Northrend through your leveling, Tailoring profession will enable you to gather more cloth than others do. This asset is made possible by ‘Northern Cloth Scavenging’, a passive, Tailors-only ability.

If you complete a ‘Northrend Dungeonmaster’ achievement, you will be able to obtain a tailoring pattern with which you can make an epic cloak for healers - Wispcloak, while with the achievement ‘Loremaster’ you will be able to craft an epic cloak for dps classes - Deathchill Cloak.

Spellthreads are another specialty of Tailors. Once placed on leggings, these Spellthreads provide healers/hurt dealer casters with a nice boost on their statistics. In order to make these Spellthreads, a Tailor will need to raise his reputation with required faction. For Cobalt Spellthread (+50 spell potential, +30 stamina) you will need to be lofty with the Kirin Tor faction while for Brilliant Spellthread (+50 spell potential, +20 moral fiber) you will need to be lofty with the Argent Crusade faction. Still, these requirements are only for those Tailors who wish to sell their Spellthreads to other players on the AH. Making spellthreads for their own use will require only 2x Ethernium threads.

Embroideries allow enhancement of the Tailors’ cloak statistics. This is perfect for healers or dps casters. Embroidery is akin to a cloak enchant and is consequently above all useful.

Which classes usually take Tailoring as their main profession?

Classes who can only wear cloth are usually the ones that choose Tailoring, for example Shadow/Holy Priests, Locks and Mages. It is common to see even Balance (Moonkins) and Resto Druids with this profession.
